2026 Truck Towing Capacity Chart (Official Guides)
Last reviewed: Oct 6, 2026 · Next review planned: January 2027
Maximum conventional towing and maximum payload, copied from the manufacturers' 2026 guides. Accessed October 6, 2026.
Each row is one published rating and the configuration that document attaches to it. Figures are copied as printed. Where a guide does not give payload for that configuration, the cell says not listed. This page does not fill a gap with a guess, an average, or a curb weight subtracted from GVWR.
Your door-jamb sticker governs. The Trailering Information Label or the Safety Compliance Certification Label on that truck is the rating for the truck you have. A maximum in this table can require a package, an axle, a wheel size, or a cab the next truck on the lot does not have. Ford's F-150 sheet says horsepower, torque, payload, and towing may not be achieved simultaneously. Ram's chart says trailer weight and payload ratings are mutually exclusive. Do not add a row's tow figure to a different row's payload and call it one truck.
Conventional (bumper-pull) ratings only. Fifth-wheel and gooseneck charts in the same PDFs are a different hitch and are not in this table. Click a column heading to sort. Download CSV of the same rows.
How to use a row with the calculator
Type the door-sticker payload into the payload tab, not the biggest number in this table. If you are only comparing a published maximum, label it as that maximum. Here is one pass through this site's functions, with the inputs stated.
Inputs: loaded trailer 5,000 lb at a measured tongue of 10 percent. Payload rating 2,440 lb, which is the available maximum payload Ford's revised 03-10-26 F-150 sheet prints for the 3.5L EcoBoost V6, not a door sticker. Hitch hardware 0 lb, passengers 150 lb, cargo 0 lb.
TTC.tongueWeight returns tongue weight 500 lb, 10 percent, inside the 10–15 percent band, with targets of 500, 600, and 750 lb. TTC.payloadCheck then uses 500 lb of tongue plus 150 lb of passengers: 650 lb used, 1,790 lb left, verdict "Passes with 1,790 lb to spare." That spare is calculator output for those inputs against Ford's published available maximum. It is not a scale ticket, and it is not proof that a 13,500 lb tow rating and a 2,440 lb payload exist on the same truck. Ford says those attributes may not be achieved together. The sticker on the door still wins.
What was copied, and what was left out
Ford's row uses the F-150 Towing Information sheet revised 03-10-26. An earlier 2026 Ford RV & Trailer Towing Guide, created October 20, 2025, prints PowerBoost available max towing of 11,600 lb and available max payload of 1,750 lb. This table does not average the two. It uses the later sheet. On October 6, 2026, ford.com returned 403 for the PDF path, so the Ford link is the copy of that Ford document retrieved that day.
Chevrolet's Silverado rows are the highest conventional cell for that engine on the one-page 2026 max-trailering chart, with the cab, bed, drivetrain, GCWR, and package footnote that sit on that cell. Tahoe and Suburban rows are the Max Trailering Package line from the 2026 Chevrolet Trailering Guide. On that same page, a weight-carrying hitch is limited to a 5,000 lb trailer and a 600 lb tongue. A weight-distributing hitch and sway control are required for tongue weights greater than 600 lb. The Tahoe and Suburban cells are the chart maxima, not that weight-carrying cap.
GMC's rows are the highest conventional cell for that engine on the 2026 Sierra 1500 trailering chart. That PDF has no payload column. The Sierra page on gmc.com, read the same day, describes the 2027 Sierra, so those payload sentences are not used here.
Toyota's brochure states an available maximum of up to 12,000 lb and does not name the cab for it. A separate footnote says the towing capacity shown for a pictured Limited CrewMax is 11,350 lb. Nissan's 2026 Armada specifications list 8,500 lb maximum trailer towing and 850 lb tongue weight. They do not list payload. The same newsroom's 2026 truck list names Frontier and Xterra, not a Titan, so no Titan row is included. Expedition selector columns in the Ford RV guide did not stay aligned in a text extract, so no Expedition row is included.

FAQ
Does this chart replace the door-jamb sticker?
No. The door-jamb sticker on your truck governs. These rows are published available maxima for the configuration named in that row. A brochure maximum is not the payload or the tow rating of the truck in your driveway.
Why do some payload cells say not listed?
That manufacturer's document did not publish a payload figure for the configuration in the row. This page does not estimate one.
